Our ESG Approach

Environmental

Emissions Baseline Icon

Emissions baseline measurement

We established our baseline for operational emissions across Scope 1 (direct), Scope 2 (electricity), and Scope 3 (supply chain). We're now measuring 2025 data to track year-on-year reductions and inform our net zero targets.

Emissions Targets Icon

Emissions targets

We will shortly begin the process of setting short-term and long-term reduction targets aligned with the latest climate science, through the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

Fleet Electrification Icon

Fleet electrification and hybridisation

50% of the delivery fleet is electrified. Zero-emission deliveries reduce our Scope 1 emissions. Hybrid fleet operational for site service teams.

Renewable energy across operations:

  • Solar-powered EV charging for transport fleet and team via Solar SkyFrames
  • Equipment charged by Solartainers Versatile before going on hire
  • Solar-powered tool charging stations at production facilities
  • Yards and depots lit by solar lighting systems
Supply Chain Engagement Icon

Supply chain engagement

Our long-term focus is on engaging our suppliers to commit to and set GHG targets. This will ensure that our supply chain partners capture their GHG data to a high standard and set reduction targets that follow climate science, helping us reduce our Scope 3 emissions.

Resource Efficiency Icon

Resource efficiency

In 2024 and 2025 we diverted 100% of the waste we generated from landfill, and 58% of this we recycled, but there is more we can do to limit the resources we use and drive circular economy approaches to minimise the waste we generate. Our long-term approach to resource efficiency will be set out in our ESG strategy.

Nature Icon

Nature

To ensure that our operations have a net positive impact on the natural environment, we are planning to take practical steps to enhance biodiversity on our premises. We recognise that even small sites can play a role in improving biodiversity and our offices and depots offer opportunities to create new habitats for wildlife and engage our staff and customers.

Social

Community Impact Icon

Community Impact

We recognise our responsibility to create a lasting positive impact in the communities where we operate, and we continue to support people through purposeful sponsorships, community engagement and by investing in our own people. See how we've supported our communities here.

ESG Strategy Icon

ESG Strategy & TOMs Alignment

Our long-term approach to social value delivery will be set out in our ESG strategy and will align with TOMs, a leading framework for measuring social value that tracks quantifiable measures to demonstrate societal impact. Our strategy will focus on:

  • Providing financial and in-kind support to local charities
  • Offering volunteering opportunities to our own staff
  • Education-focused sponsorships
  • Supporting customer-led charitable initiatives
  • Reporting on our social impact outcomes annually

Our efforts aim to benefit both the communities we work in and the people we work with, while reinforcing our values.

Governance

The Executive Board and Head of ESG are responsible for delivering our ESG strategy. Data on our performance is monitored and reported each month, and as part of business performance reviews to the Board. The Board retains oversight of our progress against our ESG performance.

The ESG Task Group which is made up of functional leads and board members is tasked with facilitating the efforts in achieving our ESG strategy and long-term targets. Relevant ESG risks and opportunities are identified in our risk register and discussed by the Exec board and ESG Task Group.

Formalizing our Approach

We're formalising our environmental, social, and governance approach to match the impact we're already delivering. Our ESG strategy, full emissions data, and net zero targets will be published in:
