Sustainability Policy Statement

As Managing Director of Think Hire Ltd, I accept that my Company’s activities can have a significant impact on the environment.

In recognition of this responsibility, I will strive towards achieving a more sustainable future by minimising any adverse environmental impact where operational restraints and resources allow and to improve process efficiency and product quality; reduce health and safety risk; and achieve regulatory compliance.

I also recognise the business case for sustainable construction based on:

  • Increasing profitability by using resources more efficiently; 
  • Securing opportunities offered by sustainable products or ways of working;
  • Enhancing the company image and profile in the marketplace by addressing issues relating to Corporate and Social Responsibility as detailed in POL008

I also support the view that sustainable development should meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. I am therefore committed to continually improve the integration of sustainability into my Company’s working environment and business processes. 

My aim is to play a proactive role in contributing to achieving sustainability where my Company may have influence. 

I am committed to accountability and transparency in my Company’s sustainability performance, this is achieved through a process of continual improvement in accordance with established best practice.

I have established integrated environmental processes across all respective work streams and continue to work on implementing these across the business and supply chain. Recognising the importance of working together with my Company’s Clients and External Providers on sustainability issues.

I have demonstrated my commitment to more environmentally sustainable practices by achieving external certification to 14001:2015 for the Environmental Management System.

The specific Targets and objectives of this policy are as follows:

Procurement

To achieve improved whole life value through the promotion of best practice construction procurement and supply side integration

Design

Where it is possible to influence the design, to ensure that buildings, infrastructure, public spaces and places are buildable, suitable for their intended use, resource efficient, sustainable, resilient, adaptable and attractive

Innovation

To innovate and increase the sustainability of Electrical Engineering and the resultant assets.

People

To invest in the recruitment, training and development of our staff to ensure that we are able to meet our objectives as a sustainable business

Resources

Achieve a reduction in the use of electricity, gas and water arising from our site and office-based activities

Biodiversity

Ensure that the protection of the local wildlife and plants within and around our construction sites is considered throughout the planning and management of projects

Waste

To constantly achieve a reduction in waste going to landfill year on year.

Materials

Use materials in construction that have the least environmental and social impact as is feasible both socially and economically

My Company is constantly striving to improve the sustainability of its operations and product. We recognise that the success of this policy depends on the combined efforts of all individuals and to this end will fully support any individual encountering difficulties implementing this Policy.
