Think Hire, a division of Think Energy Group, has been rated Excellent by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS), with an overall visit score of 93%. The result comes from our annual Office Registration Visit.

What is the Considerate Constructors Scheme?

CCS sends an appointed monitor to assess how a company treats the community around it, the environment and its workforce. Each area gets a percentage score, and the visit gets an overall rating.

Our 93% breaks down as Community 92%, Environment 94% and Workforce 94%.

How did we achieve this?

The score reflects how we run our depots, our fleet and our teams day to day. Here's what sits behind each area, and what the monitor made of it.

Community

We care about the people and places around our work, from the neighbourhoods near our depots to the customers and contractors we work alongside. We keep stakeholders informed, set clear standards for behaviour and interactions, and manage nuisance, traffic and access around our work. We record and act on feedback and complaints, promote local employment and skills, and support charities and neighbourhood causes. Each of these areas was found to be up to standard. Our HGV fleet is FORS Silver accredited (the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, covering fleet safety, efficiency and environmental performance), and our social value activities follow the UK Government's Social Value Model: wellbeing and inclusion, health and physical activity, local communities and youth development, and charitable causes.

The monitor was impressed by the respect our workforce shows to customers, principal contractors and the local communities around our regional depots.

Environment

Looking after the environment is part of how we run our own operation, as well as what we offer customers. We're ISO 14001 accredited (the international standard for environmental management, audited annually), with a formal Environmental Policy that includes carbon reduction targets. We've established a baseline for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and we're measuring 2025 data to track the reduction year on year. Our waste planning, segregation and recycling, and our pollution prevention, were both found to be up to standard. The monitor was impressed by our clear focus on sustainability, carbon reduction and social value.

The monitor also highlighted the Savings Calculator on our website as a customer focused tool that shows the value of evaluating Energy-as-a-Service. It compares a standard diesel generator with our renewable energy solutions and shows weekly and monthly savings in fuel consumption, operating costs and CO2 emissions.

Workforce

Our people make the service work, so we look after them. They work from our Oldham base and satellite depots across the country, from Scotland to Bristol, with circa 82 direct employed operatives. We're ISO 45001 accredited (the international standard for occupational health and safety), and EDI training is mandatory for every member of staff. We have zero tolerance of harassment and discrimination, and trained Mental Health First Aiders sit in both SHEQ and People Management. Benefits include gym membership or discount, private medical insurance, cycle-to-work and wellbeing programmes. Anyone can report a near miss through the Think Safe app, anonymously if they prefer. Every regional centre has modern, energy efficient welfare facilities with a dedicated wellbeing area.

Overall, the monitor was impressed by our management system, and the workforce results were recognised with a score of 94%.
