Think Hire Becomes One of Fewer Than 2,500 Companies Worldwide to Achieve Validated Net Zero Targets

Science-Based Targets Initiative approves Think Hire's GHG reduction targets, placing the company's decarbonisation roadmap on a verified, science-led footing.
Think Hire, a division of Think Energy Group, has had its greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets independently validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), joining only 2,498 companies globally that hold validated net zero targets.
The validated targets commit Think Hire to reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 63% by 2035, against a 2024 base year, and to measuring and reducing its Scope 3 emissions. As part of its full net zero commitment, Think Hire will reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 90% by 2050, from the same 2024 base year.
The SBTi is the globally recognised body responsible for independently validating corporate climate targets in line with the latest climate science, specifically the threshold required to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Validation means Think Hire's targets have been rigorously assessed against the SBTi's SME Criteria and confirmed as consistent with that standard.
For a company whose business is helping clients decarbonise their temporary sites, the validation carries particular weight. Think Hire provides off-grid renewable energy solutions, solar hybrid power, battery energy storage, and real-time carbon reporting to contractors, infrastructure projects, and utility providers across the UK. Having its own emissions roadmap independently scrutinised closes the loop between what the company offers its clients and how it operates itself.
Neil Richardson, Group CEO and Founder of Think Energy Group, said: "Think Hire's net zero targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. This is an important step for us. Our clients trust us to help them decarbonise their sites, and this validation means our own roadmap is now grounded in climate science, independently verified and open to scrutiny. That's exactly how it should work."
Heath Mansell, Head of ESG at Think Hire, added: "Our Science Based Targets approval is an important milestone in our decarbonisation strategy and reflects our commitment to credible, science-led climate action, giving us a robust framework to drive meaningful emissions reduction and long-term business resilience. Our focus now is on delivery and embedding decarbonisation across our operations and value chain."
The targets are now listed on the SBTi Target Dashboard, where they are publicly accessible.
