Energy Consultant – North
Position Overview:
We are seeking a driven and consultative Energy Consultant to lead business development and client acquisition across the North region. This role is focused on combining strategic new client acquisition with diligent, long-term account management, ensuring clients receive tailored renewable energy solutions that deliver measurable value.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, identifying opportunities for growth, promoting our renewable energy portfolio, and helping organisations transition towards sustainable energy solutions. This role requires a proactive approach to prospecting, relationship building, and delivering expert advice, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic client acquisition plan to expand our footprint in the Northwest.
- Identify and engage new prospects, including developers, contractors, businesses, and energy providers.
- Manage and grow existing accounts through consultative relationship management, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Promote tailored solutions across solar, battery storage, energy management, and other renewable energy technologies.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, growth opportunities, and competitive positioning.
- Generate new business leads through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach.
- Provide clients with expert consultancy, aligning solutions with their operational and sustainability goals.
- Negotiate and secure contracts in line with company objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate CRM records of pipeline activity, client interactions, and forecasts.
- Deliver regular performance and market insight reports to the leadership team.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, consultancy, or account management, ideally within renewable energy, sustainability, or power generation.
- Strong consultative approach with the ability to diagnose client needs and design tailored solutions.
- Demonstrated success in strategic client acquisition and business growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage relationships at all levels, from operational teams to senior decision-makers.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and driving the UK’s energy transition.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the North region.
