Mobile/Site Electrician - Southern
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Mobile/Site Electrician to join our fast-growing renewable energy company. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in solar PV and battery energy storage systems (BESS) to develop their career in the renewable energy sector.
The role is site-based across the southern part of the UK, working directly with customers to test equipment, carry out repairs, attend breakdowns, and ensure all installed systems operate safely and in full compliance with BS 7671.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV and battery energy storage systems
- Carrying out major and minor repairs on battery energy storage systems
- Fault finding on extra-low voltage (ELV) and low-voltage (LV) systems
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation
- Inspection, testing, and certification of electrical systems in accordance with BS 7671
- Responding professionally and efficiently to customer requirements on site
- Attending breakdowns and completing remedial works on installed equipment
- Ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and left operating to the highest standards
- Safely isolating and indicating ELV and LV systems
- Working efficiently under pressure while contributing positively as part of a team
Key Requirements:
- Valid ECS Card
- Fully qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification
- Strong working knowledge of BS 7671 regulations
- Proven experience fault finding on ELV and LV systems
- Basic understanding of solar PV and battery storage systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality
Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Previous experience within the renewable energy sector
- Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, hands-on attitude
