Think Hire Named Finalist for Green Business of the Year at the British Business Awards 2026
Date: 01/05/26
Think Hire, a division of Think Energy Group, was named a finalist for Green Business of the Year at the British Business Awards 2026, in association with NatWest and in partnership with The Times and The Sunday Times.
The awards ceremony took place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on 30 April 2026, bringing together 2,000 business leaders from across the UK.
The judging panel was chaired by former Unilever CEO Alan Jope CBE, with Sir Bob Geldof as keynote speaker and the evening co-hosted by Rob Brydon and Elaine C Smith.
The highlight for many was a rare appearance by George Clooney, who joined Rob Brydon in conversation and held the auditorium with what the British Business Awards described as "warmth and humour." The event also raised almost £2 million for homelessness charity Social Bite.

Think Hire competed for the Green Business of the Year title in a field of 150 companies, alongside AstraZeneca, ILI Group, Orbital Marine Power, Robertson Group, Russell Group, Smurfit Westrock, and Whyte & Mackay. The judges recognised Think Hire's product-led environmental proposition, its practical, customer-facing evidence, and a clear sector case for decarbonising off-grid construction, rail, and infrastructure sites.
Congratulations to AstraZeneca on a well-deserved win. Their commitment to driving climate action across operations and value chain sets a high standard, and competing at that level is something Think Hire doesn't take for granted.
Neil Richardson, CEO and Founder of Think Energy Group, said: "Being shortlisted for Green Business of the Year alongside some of Britain's most respected companies is fantastic recognition for the entire Think Hire team. Every product we build, every site we energise, every delivery we make is designed to reduce the carbon footprint of industries that have historically had few alternatives. The calibre of businesses on this list speaks for itself, and I'm delighted that our team's commitment to genuinely cleaner energy is being recognised on a national stage."
Think Hire was founded eight years ago to solve an energy problem that nobody else was tackling at the site level. Being recognised as one of the UK's leading green businesses, in a competitive national field, confirms the work is landing where it matters.
